1-to-1 DEVICES implementation continues into its second year at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Bundaberg.

What is 1-1 Device Program?

Starting our journey in 2015, the then Year 4 Students were introduced to 1-1 devices, using the Chromebook.  These electronic devices engaged our students into a culture of teaching and learning 'anywhere and anytime'.
These personalised, portable computers have enhanced our students’ learning opportunities . The Chromebook has seen St Joseph’s engage the digital generation by nurturing individual learning experiences.

Why?
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School joins an international move towards individualising learning, which can increase independence and self-initiated learning in students, and extend their learning beyond the classroom.
Research is proving  that students who have their own device, have been found to take responsibility, greater pride and ownership over the knowledge they create, with a flow-on to more flexible forms of schooling.

When?
Each year, students commencing Year 4 will join the Program of 1-1 Devices.  Information sessions are held at the end of Year 3 and beginning of Year 4 to inform of the process ie payment plans, responsibilities, routines.
