Healthy Eating

Schools have an important role in promoting healthy eating and physical activity to students and providing an environment that supports a healthy lifestyle. A healthy diet can improve behaviours critical to educational success, performance at school and improve academic performance. Tuckshops are an important part of the school environment.

Healthy Food

St Joseph’s tuckshop provides healthy food and drink choices that are tasty, interesting and affordable. As well as providing healthy food, the tuckshop is proud to support 'nude food' and the environment by serving package free lunches with reusable plates, cups and cutlery. Tasty Jo’s tuckshop is open every Friday. If you would like to volunteer please call in at the tuckshop or the school office to register your interest.

Volunteers don’t have to spend a whole day at the tuckshop. Parents, grandparents or members of the wider community can make a real contribution by volunteering for as little as an hour.  All tuckshop volunteers, other than parents, are required to have a Working with Children Blue Card.

St Joseph's School tuckshop has been awarded a 5 star rating (highest possible) for demonstrating full compliance with the Food Act 2006 and overall excellent food safety management practices.
