Religious Life of the School

Religious Education has two distinct but complementary components; the classroom teaching and learning of religion as seen through our Catholic Identity and the Catholic ethos, known as the Religious Life of Schools.

The four components of the Religious Life of Schools - Religious Identity & Culture, Prayer & Worship, Evangelisation & Faith Formation and Social Action & Justice complements the classroom teaching and learning of Religion.

Students at St Joseph’s engage in acts of Religious Life of the School through daily class prayer, prayer when we gather for assembly, class and whole school liturgies and masses.  Through social justice and formation activities, students learn the value of the Gospel of Jesus in their everyday lives.

School Masses such as Mary MacKillop Feast Day, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Ash Wednesday support significant events on the church calendar.

Our links with the Bundaberg Catholic Parish strengthen our students' faith formation through Masses and visits from our Parish priests, Father Don and Father Sijo and Archbishop Micheal.
